KPRA Members and Friends….Can you believe it is August???? I knew when we got this season off and running  that it would be full steam ahead, but really find it hard to believe it is almost finals time.

So, speaking of finals, be sure to watch the mail for your finals entry.  All of the details for entering the finals are in this issue of the paper and on the web, so keep your eye out for a letter from the KPRA that is stamped in red “KPRA FINALS ENTRY ENCLOSED”. Remember also, if you are not in the top twelve, you can still enter as it will be down to the final rodeo in some events as to who is in the top twelve.  If you are not in the standings, but you have gone to 3 rodeos in the RS events and 5 rodeos in the TE, and the event does not fill to 12 qualifying contestants, you would have a chance to make it to the finals.  But, you must enter!  You will not be called to see if you would like to enter.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Once again, I want to remind everyone to check the standings.  I try not to miss anyone’s winnings, but there are a lot of rodeo results coming in so let me know if I miss something.  The results are posted on the web as they are received and the standings are updated and posted often as well.

Sponsors are needed for all the events.  I know that some of the event directors are working on getting sponsors for their events, but everyone can help. Don’t put it all off on your directors.  If everyone would get a sponsor for their event, the awards would be paid for and the added money in your event would be awesome.  Once again, the sponsor packet is on the web.  Print it off and get a sponsor.  Your event director will be very appreciative. And who knows, you might be that event director next year.  It is much easier for everyone to get one sponsor than one or two directors to have to get several sponsors.

Watch for more finals information in the next issue and on the web.  But just a reminder…the finals are August 27th, 28th and 29th in Hays, KS.
