CURRENT NEWS
(As of Sunday February 21, 2010)
Hi KPRA Members and Friends!
I hope this finds everyone thawed out from the snow. We have had an unbelievable amount of snow this year. Makes us think we are back in Colorado. We thank God for the much needed moisture, but we are ready for the snow and mud to be gone and the warm days of spring to be here soon. Which in turn means rodeo season is fast approaching also. Are you ready?
The KPRA Board of Directors hosted a Committee Appreciation Supper and Social for the wonderful committees that host KPRA rodeos. The event was held in Lakin, KS with several committees attending. We again want to thank all our rodeo committees, because you are the backbone of the KPRA. We thank everyone that was able to attend the event and hopefully we answered some questions to help make your rodeo and the 2010 season one of the best. For those committees that were not able to attend, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at anytime, as we are willing to help with anything we can.
We also, are happy to announce that we have two new rodeos that joined the KPRA. They are Plainville, KS and Cheyenne Wells, CO. We look forward to working with these committees this year and in the future. They each have a very excited and enthusiastic committee behind them and their rodeos are bound to be great rodeos. Welcome Plainville and Cheyenne Wells!!!
I am sure most of you have heard that I will no longer be the Central Entry for the KPRA. I want to thank you for the opportunity of serving as the KPRA Central Entry person for the past nine years. I sincerely enjoyed working with all the contestants of the KPRA and other co-approving associations. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who supported, worked with me and appreciated my efforts in that time span. I would like to welcome Tina Kessler who was awarded this position for 2010. I wish her the best, welcome her to the KPRA and look forward to working with her during the busy rodeo season. Also, I think you all know that the KPRA has changed to the call back entry system. The entry criteria will be made known soon.
John Martin will be serving as Marketing Director for the KPRA this year. Thanks John for taking on this position and Good Luck! It is a thankless position, but John knows the needs of the association and what we are looking for to better our association and has proven himself with some great sponsors the past few years. If anyone has a possible sponsor and needs Johns help, be sure to contact him. John has been a part of the KPRA for several years, served as President and board member as well as a contestant, and we wish him the best at Marketing Director.
The KPRA Finals will be held in Hays, KS August 27th, 28th and 29th. Congratulations Hays, for being chosen to host our finals. We look forward to coming to your town.
